STEPHANIE BABBITT
Promoting health and empowering you to take charge of your well-being is the cornerstone of why I love being an Osteopathic Manual Therapist (OMT). Osteopathic Manual Practitioners recognize a patient as an integrated whole. When all of the body’s components are in balance, a person is complete and in total health. Osteopathic Manual Practitioners work to maintain, improve and restore the normal physiological function of interrelated body structures and systems, enhancing the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
- Stephanie Babbitt, B.Sc.N., R.N., D.O.M.P., D.Sc.O.The Philosophy Osteopathy
Osteopathy is focused on finding dysfunction in the body and removing it using precise and intentional manual techniques. By addressing the root cause of a dysfunction, the body’s own natural healing mechanisms are able to express themselves and a patient can gain reach and maintain their maximal level of recovery.
Who Provides Osteopathy
Ontario Association of Osteopathic Manual Practitioners (OAO) members have extensive education and clinical training, effectively assessing and treating patients using a range of manual techniques. They use a treatment philosophy that identifies and restores areas in the body that are restricted or constricted.
Who Can Benefit From Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a gentle and holistic treatment which is safe and effective for patients of all ages and health states. While Osteopathy cannot heal a pathology, it can help to optimize health and wellbeing by decreasing pain, improving mobility and enhancing the vitality of the body.
